I have a new card to share. It is a Birthday card I made for my pretty niece Josée.

My friend Josée showed me her new Bella stamps, the Uptown Girls (you can see the whole collection on Stamping Bella's here.) The one I used is Uptown Girl POSH has a present.

I really like those Uptown girls. I will surely be adding them to my collection!

Details:

The image Uptown Girl POSH has a present. (LL131) by Bella Stamps was stamped with Memento Black Tuxedo ink and colored with Copic markers.
Then I added fine Stampin'Up Dazzling Glitter here and there (with a Quickie Glue pen).
The background paper is DCWV (4.5 x 6.5" pad) called The Spring Glitter matstack.
The pink and cardstock are also DCWV.
The greeting is by Stampin'Up and was stamped with Memento Lilac Posies ink. It was cut with Memory Box die called Primo Labels (#98139).
The ribbon is Fuchsia pink satin ribbon from The Paperie (in Florida).
The card base is heavy Watercolour paper and the card is approx. 5 x 7".

I did them the same way as I did a few weeks ago, coloring only the flowers. The card is just smaller (5 1/2 x 5 1/2).

Memory Box Roses and Butterfly gift set

I want to share another project done with Memory Box dies and stamps.

I found a video for the card by Dave on the Memory Box site. I modified the card (very little - it was already so beautiful...) and because the flowers were so thick, I made a box to protect the roses.

I will be doing this project at my local stamp store Bonnidée in a few weeks (February 25, 2012). Come join me if you are interested.

I used the Memory Box dies: Chrysanthemum stamp (G1857), the Darla Butterfly #98264, the Vivienne Butterfly #98265, the Scalloped Posie #98269, the small Pinwheel Posie #98271, the Fringe Circle #98268, and the Blank ticket #98213 dies.

I'll take time for posting just another card tonight (or should I say this morning...).

This is a card I made after viewing a video on Beate Jones blog here:

It is very well explained and easy to make. I really enjoyed it...

The image is by Penny Black - I call him my 'I love you' cat...

He is "x-large love" #3611J.

I colored him with Copic markers.

The heart is cut with a Nestabilities die.

The little heart border is by Stampin'Up.

The patterned paper on top and the pink inside are Echo Park "Yours truly".

The pink and red cardstocks are Stampin'Up.

The Happy Valentine's Day is by Hero Arts C2967

I used a pearl brad from my collection - don't know the brand...

The gems were cut down from a swirl (that I found at the Dollar store).

So now, here is a view of the card when it is opened (one layer only)....

The little I (heart) you is from a Hero Arts Clear set.

The image was cut with a Spellbinders Rectangle Nestabilities.

The little slot on the right of the card, that creates the closure at the front is made with a discontinued Stampin'Up punch.

I have a lot of new cards to share... but I'll start with one for this evening...

Voici une carte "Merci" que j'ai faite pour mon amie Francine M. Merci encore Francine!!

Vous avez sûrement reconnu mon petit hérisson favori - celui de Penny Black.

Je l'ai colorié avec des marqueurs Copic.

L'image est découpée avec des Spellbinders ovales. Tous les cartons sont assez vieux - j'ai décidé d'essayer d'utiliser ce que j'avais dans mes tiroirs le plus possible maintenant....

Les fleurs sont des Prima. Les crystaux sont de Kayser Crafts.

La bordure a été découpée à l'aide de matrice Lifestyle crafts "Edge-it-kit".

La petite coccinelle sur le côté du pot de fleur a été couverte de "Glossy Accents".

Memory Box stamp and cut Heart

My first post for February 2012!

Here is another Valentine's Day card. I used a Memory Box stamp with matching die.

I inked the Memory Box Damask Heart (G1855) stamp with Stampin'Up Real Red Classic ink and stamped on white CS. Then, I cut the heart with the matching die (same one I used yesterday under the LaRue cut heart). It is called the Grand Heart Die (#98254).

I stamped a "Cover-a-card" little hearts stamp, inked with Real Red ink into red cardstock (Stampin'Up Real Red).

I punched a little envelope with an old McGill punch out of Stardream white cardstock.
I punched a little red heart with Stampin'Up heart punch (3 little hearts - I used the smallest one).
The greeting from Hero Arts was stamped in Versamark and embossed in white on red cardstock, matted with white.

The large heart was mounted to the card with foam dots, as well as the little envelope and greeting.

The red cardstock was mounted on the white card base (4 1/2 x 5 1/4")

To finish, I applied Christmas red stickles to the little heart on the envelope.

Julie Ebersole inspired me with her card (using a large heart with the little envelope) in the Simple Card Class at the beginning of the month. I really enjoyed this class - can't wait for the next one to be announced! I really recommend those on-line classes - lots of info!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Can't sleep - so I might as well do something useful - like updating my blog :)

Here is a Valentine's card I made with the new beautiful Memory Box Dies. I just love those dies!
There are so delicate and detailed and they cut very well. Especially since I watched Dave's video on special cutting techniques (from the Memory Box blog). One very little useful trick he showed: you cut your a piece of cardstock with your die once and inspect it for weak spots (where the die did not cut completely through on the cardstock). You then place some regular scotch tape on the flat (non-cutting) side of the die where those weak spot were located. I've put 2 or 3 pieces of scotch tape, one on top of each other. I put it through my Vagabond (yes I got one for Christmas and I love it...), rolled it through the machine twice and all those little pieces of the heart fall right out!

Anyway, without further delay, here is my card:
(Did I say that I love those dies? Isn't this heart just beautiful?).

Here is a different view of the heart, with the light shining on it, so that we can see the nice shiny cardstock. It looks red in the photo, but it is actually fuchsia (more like in the photo above). The little gems on the stems are also fuchsia and the pearl is kind of mauvy colour.

Details:

I cut the Memory Box La Rue detailed heart out of pink self adhesive cardstock.

The Grand Heart (solid) is cut out of shiny fuchsia cardstock and mounted on the background with foam dots.

The background patterned paper is, if I remember correctly from the Echo Park Valentine's collection.

The ribbon is fuchsia satin and covered with a little connecting heart ribbon (not sure of the brand, I purchased it at Bonnidée, my local stamping store).

The card base is thick watercolour paper. The size of the card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.

To finish the card, I applied Starform stickers gems in fuchsia over the stems and a mauve Hero Arts pearl to the center.

Scrapbook page for Francine P.

At the crop for my friend Francine's birthday tonight, we all worked on a scrapbook page to give her.
At the end of the evening, she was presented with a few presents and a beautiful Scrapbook album filled with the pages that we all made for her on a "Tropical" theme. What a thoughtful gift! She was very pleased...:)

Page Fête Francine P Janvier 2012

I had not made a 12 x 12 page in at least one year... so I was pretty rusted...

Details:

The background patterned paper is Graphic 45 Tropical Travelogue. The turquoise is Stampin'Up Tempting Turquoise cardstock. The yellow, green and orange cardstocks and the yellow letters are by Basic Grey.

The gems are Stampin'up.

The smaller flowers were a gift from my table neighbour (Merci Nathalie). The 2 large flowers came from the "lei" that we all received to go with our Tropical theme.

The blue beads are from the Dollar store.

The stamp "50 ans" is an old stamp by Magenta stamped in the new Hero Arts Chalk ink "Splash".

The shape was cut was a Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels die (#?).

I did dashed lines with a pink permanent marker around both yellow and green shapes).

The bottom border of the photo mat was cut with a die from the Border it kit by Lifestyle Crafts.

(Love those dies - you get 6 or 7 of them for approx. $35 - and they cut very well).

and oh the turquoise scalloped circle was cut with a Sizzix Pro die.

Tonight I attended a Birthday crop for my friend Francine P. Bonne Fête Francine!

I had so much fun seeing Francine and all my old friends again (sorry Ladies you're not old, just been around a while (not sure that sounds better than old - sorry :) ) . I really missed our once a month Friday night get-together. I have been such a hermit in the last 6 months... I must make an effort to get out and meet my "old" friends more often! Missed you guys! Hope to see you again soon...

Details:

I used a Hero Arts Background stamp inked with Memento Lilac Posies ink.

The pink was also stamped with the same Background but inked with Versamark ink.

The cardstocks (pink, lilac, purple) are by Stampin'Up.

The turquoise cardstock is Turquoise Stardust (shimmery).

The white is watercolour cardstock.

The stamps are in a Hero Arts-Sizzix kit (Stamp and Cut).

The gems are by Stampin'Up.

The Bonne Fête stamp is by Bonnidée.

I also used a Glitter Gel Pen to do little lines on each side of the pink cardstock and as accents on the purple flower and the turquoise scrolls.

The Bonne Fête mat was cut with a Spellbinder Nestabilities label die.

I will be teaching a class at Bonnidée in February with 2 similar cards using the Stamp and Cut kit. Come join me in class if you're interested....

All the cardstocks and papers I used are from Stampin'Up.

The butcher string is by Doodle Bug Designs (the new Valentines Pack).

The gems are Kayser crafts.

The bottom border was cut with the Lifestyle crafts Border dies.

Détails de la carte:

J'ai utilisé une étampe de fond par Hero Arts. J'ai étampé avec de l'encre Stampin'Up "Tempting Turquoise". J'ai étampé une fois sur un papier scrap (ou sur un carton blanc pour utiliser sur une autre carte. J'ai pris l'étampe sur laquelle il restait un peu d'encre et je l'ai vaporisée avec de l'eau additionnée de "Perfect Pearls". J'ai étampé sur un carton blanc que j'ai coupé au milieu et j'ai collé les images étampées sur les 2 panneaux avant de la carte.

Pour les images, j'ai utilisé les nouvelles étampes Hero Arts "Stamp and Die-Cut". Pour la fleur, j'ai encré la partie fleur avec un marqueur Memento rose et les feuilles avec un marqueur Tombo vert. J'ai vaporisé légèrement l'étampe avec de l'eau additionnée de "Perfect Pearls", puis j'ai étampé sur du carton blanc. J'ai étampé les courbes et le médallion avec le Bonne Fête avec de l'encre turquoise (Tempting Turquoise). Le Bonne Fête est une étampe faite par Bonnidée (il y a très longtemps).

J'ai découpé toutes les pièces étampées avec leur découpe correspondante. J'ai découpé une deuxième fois toutes les découpes dans du carton épais blanc (J'ai utilisé des sous-verres de carton que j'ai rapportés de vacances). J'ai collé mes découpes de papier blanc sur le carton épais et je les ai collées sur la carte avec des "foam dots".

La bordure turquoise a été coupé avec une découpe "Edge It Kits" de Lifestyle craft. Je l'ai ensuite collé à l'intérieur de la carte pour qu'elle dépasse vers l'envant. J'ai décoré les images avec des crystaux de Stampin'Up.

Tonight I would like to share a card I just finished for a class of 3 cards at my local stamping store Bonnidée. I will show you the other 2 cards after the class (one is a Mimi and the other a Hedgehog). This one will be for my husband, but I know he doesn't look at my blog....

I used a digital stamp by Mo Manning, but it is also available in rubber by Penny Black, so that's what we will use in the workshop. I saw this technique done on the Penny Black site (spot stamping) so I tried it for my card. I printed the image, then coloured only the flowers.

Here is the card:

Details:

The card is 5 x 7. The background cardstock is Bazzill red. The pink patterned paper started out as white embossed Flourish cardstock (Hot off the press Colour me Glossy Flourish). I rubbed my Distress ink pad (Spun Sugar) over the whole surface to colour it. The image is matted in red and the tag around the greeting is the same red. This was cut with Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two. The white tag inside the red is another Spellbinders tag (ribbon tag) to which I cut off the ribbon ends. The greeting "Love forever" is computer generated. The font is called Curlz. I also rubbed some Pink Distress ink over the greeting. To finish I glued 3 little punched hearts over the old couple and added 2 red gems to the fancy tag.

Clean and simple

As I mentioned before, I am taking the Clean and Simple card class given by Jennifer McGuire, Kristine and Julie Ebersole.

This week Julie showed how she does a one layer card. I thought her card was beautiful, but when I tried to reproduce, I found mine lacked "pizzazz" - not sure I would want to give or receive it... too flat, missing something. I came to the conclusion that the flowers that I used were too small (hers covered most of the card - not so much white showing) and my ink wasn't bright enough (she used a vivid red, really shows up as letterpress as she mentioned). My turquoise is pretty, but not quite as punchy. Then her sentiment is big and 2 lines. Mine is small and one line. So I will try again, but I will check for those details when making my card. For this one, I will show my result, but I will probably mat the card on a brighter colour and add a little something to cut the white background. I feel that there is too much of it.

Second Happy New Year card

Just realized I forgot to post the second Happy New Year card I made.

And actually I used the same background as the two previous card. I tried it with Dye ink. It made a pale background, but this suited what I wanted to do with this card.

The background from Impression Obsession was stamped with Hero Arts Shadow Ink Soft Stone.

The background was matted on pink cardstock, then a grey-blue cardbase.

The image is a Penny Black stamp (my little hedgehogs again). They were colored with Copics markers. I wanted a soft overall card, so I tried not to go too bright.... The image was cut with Spellbinders rectangle, then the ragged edges Spellbinders (can't remember the name of that die...).
The image and mat were mounted on the background with foam dots.

The Happy New Year was handwritten by me... with a black Copic fine tip pen, distressed the edges with blue ink, then matted in the same blue as the image and cut in a point, flag like. I then applied glue with a glue pen and fine Stampin'Up Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the image and greeting.

2nd clean and simple card

This card is almost the same as the one in my previous post here, but the matting is different - I matted on turquoise instead of red and the greeting is different. The "Thank you" is by Inky Antics (I've had it for a long time - don't know if it's still available). It was stamped in black ink on white cardstock. Then I trimmed around the stamped image with scissors, then slightly distressed the edges. I glued it on the card with foam dots.

The background was done the same way as for the previous card, but I think that I oversprayed a little, so some of the trees are missing. But overall, I was happy with the result.

So here is the card:

The bird was also stamped separately on white cardstock, cut out and colored with a red marker. I glued this one directly on the background (no foam dots).
So another clean and simple card! Very quick!

Clean and simple cards

Here are 2 new cards. They are almost the same, but not quite....

Here is the first one, Bonne Fête.

I got quite a few of these 6 x 6 background stamps by Impression Obsession before Christmas and I only tried one or two. So I played a bit with inks and this birch tree stamp and came up with this. I found that stamping with dye ink doesn't give enough coverage to my taste. So I stamped with Faded Jeans Distress ink, then sprayed directly on the inked stamp with Perfect Pearls Mist in Heirloom Gold, then stamped on white cardstock. It gave the background a pretty watercolour effect with a nice shimmer (can't see it very well in the photo). I feel you could almost see evergreen trees in the background besides the red bird. But it could just be my imagination.... I trimmed the background to 5 1/4 x 5 1/4, matted in Stamping Up Red Cherry Cobler 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 (it is a little more bright than in the photo), then on a Blue stardream 6 x 6. The Bonne Fête stamp is from Bonnidée and I slightly distressed the edges of the white CS before applying with foam dots. The bird was stamped separately on white card stock and colored red with a marker, then glued to the card with foam dots. That's it - Clean and Simple. I am taking the class with Kristina, Jennifer and Julie, so I'm trying to make Clean and Simple cards. Besides the time playing on the background, it was pretty quick putting together.

Here is another card. I made it for a friend for New Year's.

The image is by Penny Black (my favorite hedgehogs) coloured with Copic markers. The snowflakes are highlighted with a glue pen and fine glitter (Stampin'Up Dazzling Diamonds). The image is cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities Label one die and matted with the same die in red. Then it was mounted on the background with foam dots (Stampin'Up Dimensionals). The background paper is by Creative Imaginations (double sided blue snowflakes and stripes at the bottom). The white squiggles on red are on a border strip by Martha Stewart crafts. It is 12" long and I cut it down to size. The happy new year is a stamp by Hero Arts. It is cut with a Stampin'Up oval punch then glued on a diecut by Spellbinders (Labels). Then I added 2 green gems. That's it for this one!

The wreath is a new die I just purchased made by Memory Box. I love those new dies, they are so fine and delicate! The background is embossed with a Stampin'Up Sizzix embossing folder (houndstooth). The ribbon is Pink Satin ribbon by The Paperie. "Joyeux Anniversaire" is a Stampin'Up stamp, inked in Memento Lilac Posies, and cut with Stampin'up punch and matching die. The white crystals are by Stampin'Up, the pink ones are by Dollorama. The scalloped die at the bottom is by Lifestyle Crafts (Edge it kits). The background cardstock is Pink Stardream and the contrasting pink is also Stardream cardstock (both available at Bonnidée).

I have been missing in action for the last month and a half. I was travelling in Europe... took some wonderful photos and attended my daughter's MBA diploma presentation at University Paris-Dauphine.

So here are 2 of them. I love those little critters... especially the hedgehogs! I know there not for everyone, but there are so cute....

A Sympathy card I made for Julie's friend.

Ingredients:
Everything used is from Stampin'Up, except the background paper (Basic Grey Wisteria 6 x 6 paper pad).

Stamps:
Flower: Love and Sympathy
Greeting: Voeux mignons
Gems: Stampin'Up crystals
Ribbon: Omer de Serres craft store

The flower was colored with markers. The image was distressed with Tim Holtz Forest Moss Distress ink. The whole image and part of the card was sprayed with Sheer Shimmer Spritz.

The purple and green CS are from Stampin'Up (Pear Pizzazz and Bordering Blue).

Here is the card that I made for him. I got a Silhouette machine on sale last year - this is the first time that I use it to make a card! Jim is a car nut...:) So I found this old car diecut and made this card. Both Jim and my son knew right away the car model and year... (A chevy Belair I think they said...?)...

Penny Black Challenge

A last minute little tag for the Penny Black Blog Challenge.

The details:

I used a Penny Black Hedgehog stamp, coloured with Tria markers.
The image was cut out and mounted on the green circle with foam tape.
The image was also accented with a Sakura Clear star Jelly roll (on the ribbon and the dots of the gift).
I also made a faux stitching line around the green circle with the same Jelly roll pen.
The green circle started out as white and was distressed with Tim Holtz Distress inks Peeled Paint and Shabby Shutters.
The green circle was cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities Circle die.
The red circle was cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities Lace scallop circle die.
The polka dot ribbon is from Wallmart.
I punched 2 small slits to thread the ribbon with a McGill long reach punch.

Happy Halloween once more....

Here is another card that I made with the same Penny Black stamp as in my previous post.

I love this little mouse! (and I don't like real mice, but I loved coloring this one!) The image was again colored with Tria alcohol markers and cut out. The "Trick or Treat" is from an Impression Obsession clear set and stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black. The patterned papers are from a K&Co. pad.
The mouse was glued on the patterned papers with foam dots. The pumpkin was covered with Glossy accents for shine. I also applied Sakura star gel pen on the broom. (Difficult to see on the photo, but there is glitter there...)

(I will also enter this card in the Penny Black Saturday Challenge here for their "Too cute to spook" challenge and for Penny Black at Allsorts blog challenge here: I think that my colours are pretty close (just missing the turquoise).

The cute little mouse image is by Penny Black. Is is coloured with alcohol markers (not Copics - I colored the image while I was on Holidays and I only brought my "Tria" markers. The pumpkin was covered with Glossy Accents. The spiders and "Happy Halloween" are from an Impression Obsession set. The spiders were covered in glossy accents. I did a row of "fake" stiches with a Copic Black fine marker around the orange "spiderweb" cardstock. The orange paper is from a Cloud 9 Designs pad and the black is from K& Co.

Julie's Graduation

We had a very proud moment in our family this weekend!

My daughter Julie finished her eMBA (Executive MBA) and received her Diploma this weekend.
She has worked very very hard for the last 2 1/2 years and put her life on hold to get this diploma.
She did it very successfully... (she doesn't want me to mention her "first letter of the alphabet" grade anymore :) )

We were so very proud of her!!!

Graphic 45 Christmas Door

When I was at CHA this summer, I fell in love with the Graphic 45 booth and papers. I think that if I wasn't in classes, I was either in the Graphic 45 or the Kayser Craft booths studying their projects. Two of them were particularly special to me. I will share one of them with you now and the other one later on.

This first project is from Graphic 45. I took photos of the amazing creation. I don't know who the creative artist is... So if you are or know who is, please let me know and I will give credit where credit is due. So, from the photos I took, I re-recreated the project as best as I could. It was so beautiful as is, so I didn't change anything... except that I couldn't find a door at an affordable prize (on the Net, doors were in the $20 range), so I made my own out of chipboard.

The papers are from the Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium collection. I just love this Santa. He is so peaceful looking and not scary at all like some other Santas... I also love the way the little children are looking in the window behind his shoulder.

I taught this project as a workshop at Bonnidée - if you are interested, I think that there is a waiting list for a repeat....

New Home card

And I wrote the greeting by hand.

Halloween is coming!

I have been away on a Miata trip for the last 2 weeks! We met with a large Miata group for the first week (100 cars) and for the second week, Jim and I went to the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts. I was very relaxing! I brought my markers and some stamped images with me, so that I could do a little bit of coloring at night. I managed to do quite a few images and I am slowly putting cards together. I'll try to share a few now and in the coming days.

I did a few Halloween cards. Here is the first one:

The image is by Penny Black, don't have the name (it was an image exchanged with my friends).

It was colored with alcohol markers. I went over the cape with a black marker because it was uneven with only ink. I used glossy accents on the "Trick or Treat" bag. The image was cut out and raised with foam dots (it has a nice "dimensional" look in real life).

The two little spiders were a good find at a big chain store. Aren't they cute? I glued them with glossy acents and gave them some black gems eyes (Hero Arts) and I drew the little wiggly lines to mimic the larger spider that was part of the patterned paper. The large spider was also covered with Glossy Accents. The cat was glued (with foam dots as mentioned above) on this fancy piece of patterned paper by K&Co. The border is part of the paper and my card base is orange (Pumpkin Pie by Stampin'Up). (The black around the card is my photo background - not part of the card).

Gift card holder

I used a Sizzix die to make the gift card holder inside the card.

It's a little intimidating to figure out, but I checked out a video by Karen Burniston and she makes it very simple to figure out. You can see the video here. This sure makes a nice way to present a gift card. I will be using again very soon!

I blurred out the words written for my friend, so the right side of the card looks a little weird... :).

The border in blue is Stardream cardstock cut with a Stampin'Up punch.

I added the little blue border around the gift card and used glue and fine glitter to decorate it.

Bonne Fête Chère Lucienne

Voici une carte que j'ai fait pour une amie qui célèbre ses 60 ans. Bonne Fête ma chère Lucienne!

Encore une fois, je me suis inspirée d'un vidéo de Jennifer McGuire pour Hero Arts.

Voici la carte:

L'étampe de fleur est de Hero Arts (S5482- Ruffled Flower)), embossée à chaud avec de la poudre blanche, puis colorée avec les Distress Inks de Ranger (Tumbled Glass et Sapphire Blue) puis vaporisée avec les Perfect Pearls dilués dans l'eau. J'ai étampé 2 fleurs et j'ai utilisé une fleur au complet et seulement la partie centrale de la 2ème. Je les ai placées une sur l'autre avec des petits carrés de mousse (foam dots).

Les feuilles sont étampées sur du carton vert et embossées en blanc.

Le fond est couvert par les petits pois de Hero Arts qui j'ai couvert de Glossy Accents.
j'aime beaucoup l'effet!(une autre idée de Jennifer McGuire).

Le Bonne Fête vient de chez Bonnidée et est étampé en noir (Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink).

Les perles sont de Stampin'Up!.

Le carton bleu est un carton Stardream. Le bleu plus pâle (pour le souhait) est de Stampin'up et j'ai distressé les bords avec l'encre Distress.

Happy First Wedding Anniversary!

Today, Sunday September 11th, my son Bobbie (oops Robert...) and his wife Marissa are celebrating their first Wedding Anniversary! It is hard to believe that it has already been a year since that special day when they got married. It was a very beautiful wedding!

This week I lost track of time (more than usual for those of you who know me and are smiling...).

I did not realize that their wedding anniversary was this weekend already... so I made our card (Jim and I) for them quite at the last minute. It is very simple... I had lots of ideas to make it more elaborate, but I ran out of time and this is the card that we gave them:

The card is 5 x 7, and the card base is Stardream Shimmer white cardstock.

The Patterned paper is by Best Creations and it doesn't show very much in the photo, but the white is embossed and glittered.

The "Happy Anniversary" is stamped in Jet Black Ranger Archival ink and the stamp is by "Stampin'UP!". The shape is cut partly with a Nestability die "Labels 10" (the top and bottom of the die are missing (on purpose..)). The gems are "Out to sea" Queen and Co.

For the inside of the card, I used a new Sizzix die, called "Floating Frames 3D".

I used the "Nestabilities Label One small" to cut the little photo and to cut a small shape for the little text (out of blue Stardream cardstock). I inserted both die cuts within the little frames of the Pop-up.

Here is a close-up of the floating frames:

The bottom of the card is decorated with a heart border, cut with a Martha Stewart border punch.

So Happy First Wedding Anniversary Bobbie and Marissa. Wishing you Happiness and Love! We love you very much!!

I liked doing my last card so much that I made another one in a different colour...

It is a Thank you for a friend whose favorite colour is purple.

The flowers were first stamped in Hero Arts Shadow ink in soft purple, then restamped overtop with another die ink, Versacolor in purple (must check the exact colour).

The yellow and mauve mats under the image are from my scraps drawer and the background paper is by Lasting Impressions.

The ribbon is from May Arts.

I covered the center of the flowers with Purple Stickles and added a few pearls by Hero Arts.

The greeting "Thanks very much" is by Hero Arts.

The last card I made for Julie... (and apparently her friend Verginia just loved it... :)

For this one also, I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's video. I did a multiple stamping with the image by Hero Arts (it is a Cling stamp and I don't have the wrapping to check the number... sorry).

I stamped first in Hero Arts Shadow ink in Soft green, then I stamped the main image in Hero Hues in Green. The greeting is also by Hero Arts and was stamped in Memento black ink. The ribbon is from my stash. The gems are by Kayser Crafts. The background paper is from a 6 x6 pad called Daydream by First Edition Paper.

I cut the corners of the image and mat with a Stampin'Up! punch.

The last step - I added Crystal Stickles to the center of the stamped flowers.

In my last post, I said new cards (with an "s") and only showed one, well here is another one.
OK I know, nothing for 3 weeks, then 2 on the same night.... (and I might even surprise you with a 3rd one... :)

So this is another one I did for Julie (thanks Julie I appreciate the requests.. :) )... and to get my MOJO back (after cleaning my desk), I listened to a Jennifer McGuire video and it helped a lot to get me going... so Thank you Jennifer for the inspiration!!!

Here is the card - a French birthday card...

Let's start with the flower (Hero Arts wood stamp Ruffled Flower S5482).
It was stamped with Versamark ink, then embossed with white powder.
Next, I colored the flower with Distress inks (Broken China and Chipped Sapphire) and sprayed the whole flower with a mixture of Perfect pearl and water. Let dry thoroughly.
(Notice that I did 2 flowers - for the second one, I only used the smallest flower in the center).
When dried, I cut out the flowers and glued the small one over the larger one with Stampin'Up! dimensionals.
Then I covered the center with tiny Hero Arts pearls.

The flower itself was applied with more dimensionals on a Medium blue Stardream CS cut with a Scalloped circle Nestabilities die.

For the card base:
White Canson watercolour paper (6 x 6")
Green CS: American Designs
Blue and striped PP: 8 x 8 Citrus stack from DCWV

The striped part was cut a Nestabilities Paisley die.

The label is also Nestabilities (Labels trio) die. The stamp (Bonne Fête) is by Stampin'Up (Quelque chose à fêter). The label was attached to the ribbon with a piece of plain string.

The ribbon is wired - Kate's Paperie (I got it somewhere in the US).

New cards... Yeah!

I know, I know... I'm not a very regular blogger lately... but I had lost my mojo...

But thanks to my daughter Julie, my best card customer, I got it back... a little...

She needed 3 cards and I made room on my crafting table (and that is saying a lot.... :) )
and I got to work...

She needed a "New Home" card. This one was mainly done quite a while ago and I just finished putting it together.

The stamp used is Whipper Snapper, colored with Copics.

I had the papers already cut, so I can't tell you what they are.

The red trim was cut with a Stampin'Up! Scallop Border punch.

The flowers were cut with a Sizzix Lilacs blossoms punch. The pearls are Hero Arts.
I glittered the top of the flowers with a Sakura Quickie glue pen and Stampin'Up! Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

The colored image was cut with Spellbinders dies.

I did a fake line of stitches by the red border with a white pen.

The ribbon and card base cardstock are by Stampin'Up! also.

And since I didn't have a stamp for it, I wrote "A new home" by hand with a fine black marker.

The pink border was cut with a Martha Stewart punch and the paper is from First Edition Paper, Love Song (12 x 12).

The Happy Birthday was cut with a Spellbinders Label die.

Gem in flower Hero Arts Hues Dots in green.

Flower was punched (can't remember with what punch - the die cut was in my stash... sorry...)

The edges of the images were distrissed with Ranger Distress inks in Antique linen.

Douce sympathie and the ovals are by Stampin'Up.

The background patterned paper has foil leaves and I can't remember the company....

Summer Card Camp Week one Challenge

Hi there!

I am trying to slowly get back into my stamping.... my own, not preparing classes, which is what I have been doing mainly for the last few months. Time for me!!!

I am participating in the Summer Card Camp with Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner.
The challenge this first week is to do a card with these colours:

Because it was a very busy weekend after all (Jim retired on Thursday and I celebrated my birthday on Friday and we are still very busy continuing to plant in our garden renovation... (I will show photos when it is all completed)), Anyway I did a very quick card....

Here it is:

I misplaced my camera, so I had to scan, that's why the glitter looks funny.... and it is slightly out of focus in the lower corner....

I used the flowers from the Basic Grey set Sweet Threads (CG309).

I used Nick Bantock Rose Madder ink and Color Box chalk Wisteria.

The cardstock are from a DCWV pad.

The "Hello" is from set "Happy Day Animals" from Hero Arts (CL153).

The little tag was punched with a Fiskar punch. And the ribbon is Stampin'Up Pumpkin Pie.I also used a gem from Hero Arts Hero Hues Dots.

Wow it has been so long that I don't remember how to blog anymore!!!

I decided to take some time and make a card for a challenge. This one will fit 3 different challenges. The challenge was to use a stamp with critters. So here is my little critter (I love my hedgehogs...!!!). This one is an old one, but he is still one of my favorites. And the image was colored with Prismacolor crayons

the little red flower was accented with a red Sakura Gel pen

The red flowers are from a roll of ribbon (May Arts?)

Sparkle! Penny Black Challenge

I made this card for the Glitter challenge on the Penny Black blog.
(and it is also for a class at Bonnidee later in May.)

The background paper from K&Co. came with it's own glitter.

The image by Penny Black (4164K A rose), was watercoloured with Tombo markers.

The edges of the image were distressed with a pink chalk ink.

The flowers were glittered with a Stardust Gel pen.

The top and bottom of her dress were glittered with a glue pen and fine glitter.

The punches are both EK Success: the bottom border is called Bracket 54-40023

and the one repeated on each side of the image is called Retro Flower 54-40095

The cardstock are by the Paper Co.

Penny Black challenges

I am here in Florida and I still get the chance to play with my stamps and make cards. It so nice not to have the snow - but I feel bad that Julie has to shovel it all.... Julie if you read this, we are very grateful and we owe you...

Here is a card I made for the Penny Black Blog challenge.
The challenge: make a card with the colours: teal, orange and purple. Not a common colour combination.. And not an easy one!

Here is my card:

The stamp is Penny Black Pansy Bunny 40-066
The background (on the orange background paper) is Paisley outline 40-048 stamped in orange
The greeting is Hero Arts Find Joy CL497
The image was stamped in black on watercolour paper and coloured with Tombo markers.

I would also like to enter this challenge on the Penny Black at Allsorts blog here.

The challenge is to make a Penny Black card on the theme "Welcome Spring". I think that my little pansy bunny fits the challenge. Isn't he cute and springy?

Wedding card version 2

Julie asked me to do a wedding card for her and since I was leaving on Holidays, I didn't have time to re-invent the wheel, so I used the same design as the wedding card I showed you a few posts ago...

Here is the card:

There is a little too much glare on this photo because of the shiny silver cardbase, but these colours are more true to life. Here is another view without the flash - you can see the details better....

The cardbase is silver cardstock from my stash.
The pattern paper is from a 12 x 12 paperstack, I think from My Mind's eye (not sure - I'll check...)

The silk roses, the bling, the Congratulations are from Stampin'Up!

The leaves I found in a gift bag store.

(and for my friends back home... I'm loving the sun... Sorry for all the snow... Maybe someone wants to go give Julie a hand with our steps....)

Bobbie's Birthday card

i can't sleep, so I might as well do something useful....

My son, Bobbie, (Robert for everyone else) turned 29 yesterday (on the 28th).... He's my youngest - so that makes me feel old.....

We had been talking recently how much we enjoyed the spring break every year on his birthday. We used to rent a chalet up North and enjoyed many family get togethers. And most of the time, we skied on Bobbie's birthday (yes, even me! I wanted to keep up with my family and started skiing in my 30s..)

Anyway, I thought I'd try to fnd a photo from those days to put on his Birthday card.
Isn't he just too cute! With his fluorescent ski outfit!

The funniest thing is that Bobbie (oops Robert) took the day off from work on Monday (the 28th) and went skiing on that same hill we used to go to, where the photo was taken. Isn't that a neat coincidence!
Well, he enjoyed the card and seeing the photo! He said that things at the ski hill haven't changed and he skied the same runs he used to enjoy as a little boy....

So here's the card:

The Happy Birthday is a Hero Arts stamp.

The cardstock are by Stampin'Up and are retired colours.

I stamped a snowboarder and "snow" inside the card, but I don't have a photo.... The stamps are by Stampin'Up.

Second Wedding card

As promised, here is the second card I made for Bobbie and Marissa's Wedding.

This one was from Jim and I. Since I was running out of time (so much to do the last week before the wedding...), it was a much simpler one.

I used a frame and papers from K&Co. that I had been saving for a looonnnng time for a special occasion. I guess this was a very good one (special occasion). The photo doesn't do it justice - the colours are a lot more vibrant in real life.

I also used some Heidi Swapp bling (the word Love) and I stamped and blinged the word "Congratulations" (not sure what stamp company this stamp is... (sorry).

I used a shimmery pearl (Star Dream) background cardstock and rounded the corners.

Card for Bobbie and Marissa's wedding

I promised to show "stuff I made" for the wedding, but I will not be going at it in order....
Just the way I am I guess...

So here is one of the two cards I made for them for the wedding. This one was for Julie.
We dropped them in the big chest at the wedding reception.
And Bobbie and Marissa paid me the nicest compliment. The next day when they were opening up all the cards, they said that they had a few favourites and it turned out that they were both made by me. Isn't that nice!!
(Today is Bobbie's birthday, so I better hurry and make him his birthday card.... always at the last minute...)

So here is the card I made for Julie to give them.

Their wedding colours were Black, turquoise (Tiffany Blue) and white.
So I had bought lots of papers and accessories in those colours.
The patterned paper is "Lush" by My Mind's Eye. The crystals are also by My Mind's Eye.
The white roses, pearls and leaves, I found at a gift bag supplier.

Penny Black Challenge Easter

Here is a card I made for the Penny Black Blog weekly challenge. The challenge this week is Easter cards. I just bought this cute little bunny and had to use it for the challenge!

I colored the image with Copic Markers.
The patterned papers (pink glitter and flowers are from a stack from DCWV.)
I cut the image and the mat with Spellbinders Nestabilities.
I also sewed a plain stich all around the patterned paper.

The "Easter Wishes" greeting is by Stampin'Up. The flowers are Prima and the bling in the flowers and by the greeting are Hero Arts.

Marissa's Birthday card

What a beautiful Sunday morning!

I am at my computer, working on downloading the wedding photos to be printed and I am enjoying the beautiful sunshine coming in the window.

While going through the photos, I realized that I never really shared all the "stuff" I made for the wedding events.

So I'll try to post them one a time over the next few weeks (don't want to bore you...:) )

Here is the first one. It is the card I made for Marissa's birthday on August 1st. We had a nice garden party at her parents' house. Marissa is a dental hygienist and her sister had a beautiful cake done for her. So original!!

Here is the photo of the cake (and beautiful Marissa).

Isn't the smiling tooth amazing??? I can't remember the name of the pastry shop, but if anyone is interested, let me know and I'll find out....

And now here is the card I made:

I used a digital image by Mo Manning. I colored it with my Copics (of course!)

Marissa likes a lot of bling (like me...) so I used my best K& Co. blingy patterned paper, some gems on the cat's collar and on the image.

The image and mat were cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities.

The ribbon is Certainly Celery by Stamping Up.

The greeting was computer generated.

The little flowers by the greeting were bought at the Dollar store a long time ago....

Little Fairies

I have 2 cards to share tonight...

I did those for a class at Bonnidée. The images were colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with Gamsol. The patterned paper for the dark card is by SEI and the lighter one is oops I have a blank... something Creations...

And I'm sorry to say - I don't know who makes the stamps...

So here are the cards... If you need more info, let me know and I'll try to answer...

The images and mats were cut with Nestabilities. Leaving the die on, I then distress the edges of both images with Ranger Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass.

The flowers on the pink card were cut with punches from Nellie Snellen (one punch cuts and the other punch embosses). If you enlarge the photo (by clicking on it) you might see the embossing on the petals. I used 2 different size punches to create the flowers.

The ribbons are by May Arts.

And of course, I added a lot of glitter with a fine glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Stampin'up Birthday card

Hi everyone,

Just a quick share of a card I made for one of the Ladies in my Stampin'Up Club.
Bonne Fête Chantale!

I used one of the current Hostess sets to stamp the butterflies.

The patterned paper is one of the free product in the Sale-a-bration mini catalog (free with a $60 purchase until March 30th, 2011).

The chocolate chip cardstock under the butterflies was cut with the Stampin'Up border punch.

I also placed little SU pearls in the centres of the butterflies.

The blue CS is SU Tempting turquoise.

Oh and there is a little bit of Dazzling Diamond glitter around the wings of the butterflies.

Penny Black Weekly challenge

Hello everyone,

Here is the card I made this week for the challenge on the Penny Black blog.

The challenge was to use white as the main element of the card.

II used a Penny Black stamp of course!

I coloured those cute little Penny Black mice with my Copic markers (I love colouring those Penny Black images!!!).
The image is Penny Black Snuggle 3343H and the greeting is "Happy Valentine's Day" 1344F.

My background white cardstock is Gina K 120lb white.
I also used White Stardream cardstock that I emblossed with Kassie's Brocade Embossing folder (Cuttlebug). I just love the shimmer of that cardstock. The ribbon is from "Omer de Serres" (a local craft store). The colour is Terra Cotta.
The bottom trim is punched with Martha Stewart double heart border punch.

I cut the image with a Nestabilities circle (Lacey circle). The hearts on the image were covered with Ranger Glossy enamel. And the edges of the image were distressed with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. The edges of the greeting were rubbed gently with Barn Door Distress Ink.

Valentine Challenge card

I made this card for the new weekly challenge on Penny Black's Blog.

The challenge was to follow this sketch:

Here is my card:

I used my favorite, an Hedgehog stamp (Hearts Away #3609H) colored with Copics markers.

The hearts are covered with Ranger Glossy accents.

The patterned paper is BoBunnty 2665 forget-me-nots

The pink cardstock and ribbon are by Stampin'Up, in Melon Mambo

The green Cardstock is BoBunny Kiwi Double Dots

The white textured cardstock is by DCWV.

I cut the image with Nestabilities dies and coloured the edge of the coloured image and the scalloped square with Ranger Distress ink Worn Lipstick.

The layers at the bottom of the card were made by punching different colours of cardstock with Martha Stewart border punch called Loops Heart border.

Now all I have to do is decide who I will give this to!!

Penny Black - Little Mimi's Valentine

Hello everyone, Bonjour!

I can't believe it's already January 19th and I haven't blogged once in the New Year yet! Well the month is not over, so Happy New Year everyone! Bonne Année!
I have been making lots of cards for classes.
Here is one of them: new Penny Back Litlle Mimi for Valentine.

I am entering this in the car while waiting for Jim's flight to arrive, so I don't have any supplies list with me, but I have some photos.

The first card I made is an easel card. Here is a view of the card closed:

The stamps are all by Penny Black.

There is a lot of glitter and bling and a little bit of glaze on the cherry.

Another Christmas card!

This card Is made with a stamp that i've had for many many years (Stamp Happen)... Was never happy with the coloring before. This time, it's not so bad... I colored the image with Copics and inked the whole background with Distess ink.

The background patterned paper is My Mind's Eye. The ribbon is from my stash.... The snowflakes are part of the stamp (little circles) so I covered them with white Glaze from Ranger. The snowflake is a leftover from a Nestabilities border. And I put a lot of glitter everywhere (with a fine glue pen and Stampin'up Dazzling).

Merry Christmas! Joyeux Noël!

I hope you all had a Nice Christmas and that you are still taking time to enjoy the Holidays!

I am away from home, at my daughter's house, so no stamping for the last few days! I have photos of the cards I made before Christmas, so I'll share a few now...

This is the card I made for my friend Claudia's Birthday.

Last November, I attended a full day workshop with my favorite: Jennifer McGuire. This flower is one of the techniques we did. It is a Hero Arts stamp, embossed in white and colored with Distress inks, then sprayed with Perfect pearls dissolved in water.

Holiday Die Cuts Challenge

While I was in Europe, I found a little craft store named Crea?? (Ok I forgot, but I have the name written down somewhere...)

I found 2 cute "Marianne" stamps. Here is one of them. I colored it with Copic markers.

I have a few diecuts on the card: The Poinsettias (can't remember the name of the company and it's not written on the die...) and the Sizzix swirls that I covered with Dazzling Diamonds. And I used Nestabilities to cut the image and mat.
Edit: the poinsettias die is made by Boss Kuts.

The greeting on the card is from a clear stamp set by Penny Black.

Voici 2 autres cartes de Noël faites avec les étampes de Bonnidée.

Here are 2 more cards made with Bonnidée stamps. Aren't they cute!

All the stamps used are by Bonnidée. The cardstock, glitter on the branches and ribbon are by Stampin'Up. The images are coloured with Copics Markers. The edges of the image were distressed with Tim Holtz Distress ink. The Christmas ball was first covered with Stampin'Up Crystal Effects, then covered with SU Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. Much more glittery in real life! The snowflakes on the Navy Blue Cardstock were stamped with the new Stazon Metallic Platinum ink. I also applied Crystal Effects to the eyes of the cat.

All the stamps on this card are also by Bonnidée. The image was coloured with Copics markers.

The glitter is Stampin'U Dazzling Diamonds and the red cardstock is Stampin'Up Real Red.

Here are 3 new cards I will be teaching at Bonnidée on November 6th.

Voici 3 nouvelles cartes pour un atelier chez Bonnidée le 6 novembre.

This card was designed by Jennifer McGuire of Hero Arts at CHA. (I modified it s little bit.... changed the snowflake and the trees are shorter, but the design is basically the same...). The trees are colored with Tim Holtz Distress inks.

The tree in this card was also inspired by card I made at CHA with the Hero Arts Ladies. I redesigned the rest of the card, but kept the colours that they had used.

I saw these trees on a display board in the Hero Arts booth at CHA. They are fun to make!

This card is my entire design (I already posted it last week....)

For this card, I copied the design of card that I saw at CHA in the Penny Black booth. The background is embossed in a grid, using the Scor-Pal. The snowflakes are done with a white gel pen.

Lst of the Leaves in the Miata

Today (Saturday) Jim and I spent the day on the road on a Miata trip with the Ottawa Miata Club.

What a beautiful day! See the beautiful scenery we saw all day. The leaves were at their best!
(and the cute little cars in front of us are not bad to look at either).

Great weather, great roads, great scenery, great company - a very nice day!

A cat's Christmas

I made this card as a sample for Bonnie from Bonnidee (my local stamp store) for a show she is attending in Toronto. This cute set of stamps (the tree, cat and mice) is her own design.. Aren't they cute? The paper is Basic Grey (last year's Christmas paper).

The snow is chunky glitter by Stamin'Up. The image was colored with Copics markers. The tree sits on a Nestability Label die.

Christmas Belle for Birthday card

So here are a few more cards:

This is a card I made with Penny Black Christmas Belle (a class I gave at Bonnidee last week). This card was not my design, it was a card designed by Elizabeth from Penny Black. I did it as a make and take with her at CHA.

I modified it a little bit (my mats are different and I pop dotted the tree that she is holding)....

I really like this elegant lady so I wanted to use this stamp for more than just Christmas, so I came up with this card for a Birthday. (The card is intended for a Lady who loves "mauve"... Isn't she elegant! (Notice her red soles...)

So the stamp is by Penny Black. The cupcake is by Stampin'Up. She was coloured with Copics markers and glittered with a Quickie glue pen and Stampin'Up Dazzling Diamonds. The gray ribbon is by Stampin'Up, so are the crystals (they are really sparkly in real life. The Happy Birthday was hand written. The image was cut with Nestabilities (plan oval and scalloped oval). The patterned papers are by K & Co.

New cards for Card Making Day

Today is Card Making Day, so I have a few cards to share:

First another card with Little Mimi from Penny Black. This card will be in a set of 3 that I am teaching next Saturday (the 9th) at Bonnidée. I think that there are one or two places left...

I am also submitting this card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge Blog (anything but square...).

The image is colored with Tombo markers. The music sheet by Penny Black also is embossed in black. The background paper is by Imaginesce, the Snowflakes are Spellbinder dies. The image itself was cut with a new Nestabilities die (the ornament). The top trim is cut with an EK Success punch in 2 colours. And there is glitter here and there on the image (of course, have to use glitter... :) ). The ribbon is from my stash, I think that it is by May Arts.
