New Hero Arts Stamp and cut

Today I'm sharing 2 cards, that I made with a set by Hero Arts - stamp and cut and 2 Hero Arts background stamps.

(I will be having a class with those 2 cards at my local stamp store Bonnidée, if you are in the area - it's this coming Saturday, February 11th).

Bonne Fête Chère Lucienne

Voici une carte que j'ai fait pour une amie qui célèbre ses 60 ans.  Bonne Fête ma chère Lucienne!

Encore une fois, je me suis inspirée d'un vidéo de Jennifer McGuire pour Hero Arts.

Voici la carte:

L'étampe de fleur est de Hero Arts (S5482- Ruffled Flower)), embossée à chaud avec de la poudre blanche, puis colorée avec les Distress Inks de Ranger (Tumbled Glass et Sapphire Blue) puis vaporisée avec les Perfect Pearls dilués dans l'eau. J'ai étampé 2 fleurs et j'ai utilisé une fleur au complet et seulement la partie centrale de la 2ème.  Je les ai placées une sur l'autre avec des petits carrés de mousse (foam dots).

Les feuilles sont étampées sur du carton vert et embossées en blanc.

Le fond est couvert par les petits pois de Hero Arts qui j'ai couvert de Glossy Accents.
j'aime beaucoup l'effet!(une autre idée de Jennifer McGuire).

Le Bonne Fête vient de chez Bonnidée et est étampé en noir (Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink).

Les perles sont de Stampin'Up!.

Le carton bleu est un carton Stardream.  Le bleu plus pâle (pour le souhait) est de Stampin'up et j'ai distressé les bords avec l'encre Distress.

For this one also, I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's video.  I did a multiple stamping with the image by Hero Arts (it is a Cling stamp and I don't have the wrapping to check the number... sorry).

I stamped first in Hero Arts Shadow ink in Soft green, then I stamped the main image in Hero Hues in Green.  The greeting is also by Hero Arts  and was stamped in Memento  black ink.  The ribbon is from my stash.  The gems are by Kayser Crafts.  The background paper is from a 6 x6 pad called Daydream by First Edition Paper.


I cut the corners of the image and mat with a Stampin'Up! punch.

The last step - I added Crystal Stickles to the center of the stamped flowers.

In my last post, I said new cards (with an "s") and only showed one, well here is another one.
OK I know, nothing for 3 weeks, then 2 on the same night.... (and I might even surprise you with a 3rd one... :)

So this is another one I did for Julie (thanks Julie I appreciate the requests.. :) )... and to get my MOJO back (after cleaning my desk), I listened to a Jennifer McGuire video and it helped a lot to get me going... so Thank you Jennifer for the inspiration!!!

Here is the card - a French birthday card...

Let's start with the flower (Hero Arts wood stamp Ruffled Flower S5482).
It was stamped with Versamark ink, then embossed with white powder.
Next, I colored the flower with Distress inks (Broken China and Chipped Sapphire) and sprayed the whole flower with a mixture of Perfect pearl and water.  Let dry thoroughly.
(Notice that I did 2 flowers - for the second one, I only used the smallest flower in the center).
When dried, I cut out the flowers and glued the small one over the larger one with Stampin'Up! dimensionals.
Then I covered the center with tiny Hero Arts pearls.

The flower itself was applied with more dimensionals on a Medium blue Stardream CS cut with a Scalloped circle Nestabilities  die.

For the card base:
White Canson watercolour paper (6 x 6")
Green CS:  American Designs
Blue and striped PP:  8 x 8 Citrus stack  from DCWV

The striped part was cut a Nestabilities Paisley  die.

The label is also Nestabilities (Labels trio)  die.  The stamp (Bonne Fête) is by Stampin'Up (Quelque chose à fêter).  The label was attached to the ribbon with a piece of plain string.

The ribbon is wired - Kate's Paperie (I got it somewhere in the US).

Summer Card Camp Week one Challenge

Hi there!


I am trying to slowly get back into my stamping.... my own, not preparing classes, which is what I have been doing mainly for the last few months.  Time for me!!!


I am participating in the Summer Card Camp with Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner.
The challenge this first week is to do a card with these colours:

Because it was a very busy weekend after all (Jim retired on Thursday and I celebrated my birthday on Friday and we are still very busy continuing to plant in our garden renovation... (I will show photos when it is all completed)), Anyway I did a very quick card....

Here it is:

I misplaced my camera,  so I had to scan, that's why the glitter looks funny.... and it is slightly out of focus in the lower corner....

I used the flowers from the Basic Grey set Sweet Threads (CG309).

I used Nick Bantock Rose Madder ink and Color Box chalk Wisteria.

The cardstock are from a DCWV pad.

The "Hello" is from set "Happy Day Animals" from Hero Arts (CL153).

The little tag was punched with a Fiskar punch. And the ribbon is Stampin'Up Pumpkin Pie.I also used a gem from Hero Arts Hero Hues Dots.

Christmas Wreath- Couronne de Noël

Here is a card that I forgot to post.  I made it for National Card Making day at the beginning of the month.

Voici une carte que j'ai oublié de publier.  Je l'avais fait pour la Journée Nationale des cartes au début du mois.

Les étampes sont de Hero arts; le papier est de K& Co. et le carton et ruban sont de Stampin'Up.

The stamps are Hero Arts, the patterned paper is by K& Co and the cardstock and ribbon are by Stampin'Up.

Flower Garden - Jardin de fleurs

Just a quick share:  A card I made with a technique described by Jennifer McGuire.

Using Distress inks for the background and a Perfect pearl solution to blend over an embossed image of an Hero Arts image.

Supplies:

Stamp:  Hero Arts cling stamp (don't have the number - I lost the packaging)

PP:  Basic Grey 

Ribbon:  Stamping 'Up satin ribbon Bashful blue

March Card Chain Challenge

Last month I participated in a Card Chain Challenge on Deborah Nolan's blog.  I met Deborah on the HA Flickr group.  She has been doing this challenge for many months now and this is the first time I participated.  You put your name on a list on her blog.  You send a card to the person above your name and receive a card from the person below your name.  There are themes, colours, sketches to choose from.  I chose "Grateful" and did this Thank you card that I sent to Hilde in Norway.

Card details:

The background was done on glossy cardstock with Ranger alcohol inks with a bit of metallic copper.


The script on the background is by "A stamp in a Hand"


The cardstocks are by Stampin'Up, Tempting Turquoise and Bernuda Bay (to be retired in July).

Under the background is a green shimmery cardstock.


The butterflies are by Hero Arts and are colored with Copic Markers. 

The gems on the Butterflies are hot fix Swarowski crystals.


The border was cut with a Martha Stewart punch. 
The saying is from a Hero Arts clear set.

I love the woodgrain background (and it is embossed - very pretty).

Happy Spring

March is here! Time to start thinking about Spring.

I used the Hero Arts tulips, one of my favorite stamps.

(H2817 Garden Flowers Sketch)

I colored the flowers with Copic Markers, then cut with Nestabilities.

Before removing the Nestabilities die on the image, I sponged Yellow Distress ink around the edges.

The green polka dots patterned paper is from a Nursery pack from DieCut with a view.

The ribbon is from my stash.

The greeting is from PSX, which no longer exists.

The pearls are Basic Grey.

New card

A new Flower card for a challenge....

The stamp image and the greeting are by Hero Arts. The image is colored with Copic markers.
The ribbon is silk from my stash.... been saving this one a looonnng time....

The card base is also by Hero Arts, and the mauve paper is by Lasting Impressions.

I have been cleaning my stamp room and found all those supplies from before my Stampin'Up days....

I did a bit of sewing around the image....

The little bit of green under the image was cut with a Martha Stewart Border punch.

Embossed Resist technique

I did a second attempt at the embossed resist technique as described by Jennifer McGuire on her blog.

I used the same Hero Arts Shadow Flower stamp and an Antique Flower Background stamp (Hero Arts Design Block).

The cardstocks are by Stampin'Up (Tempting Turquoise and new 2010 colour Curry).
the inks are Distress inks.
The butterfly was punched with a Martha Stewart punch.
The ribbon is from my stash and the pearls are from K & Co.
The navy blue cardstock (which looks black on the photo) is actually navy blue shimmer CS.
The background image is stamped on the Turquoise with Versamark Dazzle ink.
Oh and ths time I used regular clear embossing powder.

Happy Birthday in Flowers

A Silhouette flower card (Hero Arts Stamps) using the Emboss resist technique taught by Jennifer McGuire on her blog.
Used Distress inks to color the flowers. My first try - not so bad, but I need practice...
Doesn't show in the photo, but the butterfly is all shimmer. The background stamp and the greeting are also Hero Arts stamps.

Happy Birthday Claudia!

Here is a card I made for my friend Claudia. She loves those little Hero Arts Asian dolls.

I made a shutter card for her. The paper I used is by Stampin'up (it is now retired - I was saving it for special occasions. Love this paper, the texture, the colours - I miss my Baja Breeze). The images were coloured with Copics.

Another card for the Hero Arts "Color It" challenge

You might be able to tell by now if you visit my blog regularly that I love to color. So since the challenge on the Hero Arts Blog this week is to colour images, I have been colouring (instead of doing what I'm supposed to do.....).

So here is another card. The image is another Hero Arts bouquet, colored with Copics. I cut the image with a Nestabilities die, then while the image was still in the die, I distressed the edges with Muster Seed distress ink (with a stiff painbrush in a circular motion).

The cardstocks I used are Stampin'Up Rose Red and retired Pink Pirouette (pale pink).
The patterned paper is Basic Grey 6 x 6 Bittersweet.

The ribbon is by American Craft.

The pearl stick is by Maya Road. The 3 pearls on the left are Hero Arts. The bling is Kaiser Craft and the glitter is SU Dazzling Diamonds.

This week's challenge on Hero Arts

This week's challenge by Jennifer McGuire on the Hero Arts Blog is to colour an image! Can you imagine! My card from yesterday would fit in exactly. Colouring is my favorite thing to do! I have so many images coloured and ready to be made in a card.... some of them have been coloured for years and are still waiting :( I find colouring so therapeutic - I love to colour with my Copics, my Trias or my Prismacolor crayons. I also like to watercolour, but not so much lately.

Anyway, I couldn't wait to make another card. (Actually I colored 2 images, hopefully the second image will make it into a card also....)

I love the Hero Arts flower bunches - I must own 10 different flower bouquet stamps. So here is a different one from what I used yesterday. I coloured the image with Copics. I cut the image with Nestabilities and ink the edges of the ovals while it was still in the Nestability die. (I used Tim Holtz Linen Distress ink and a stiff brush).

The ribbon is from my stash. The CS is Bazzill. The patterned paper is Basic Grey Lemonade (the 6 x 6 pad).

The greeting is also by Hero Arts stamped in Memento Brown ink (I also inked the edges with the Memento Brown ink pad). It was cut with SU Oval punch.

The pearls are by KaiserCrafts.

Hero Arts - Mail it challenge

So the holidays are almost over - Jim goes back to work tomorrow! I'll have to get back to my regular schedule and catch on all my websites surfing, my Stampin'Up business and I have many classes to prepare!

To get back into things, I visited the Hero Arts Website today to find out what the challenge was for this week. It is to make a card to mail to someone. So I have many overdue Thanks yous and Birthday cards to do, so here is one down, many more to go.... LOL

This is an old Hero Arts stamp, but still one of my favorite. I coloured the image with my Copics markers (I always coloured with watercolors before, but I can of like the Copics results).

I have put gems in the center of the flowers and glitter on the little branches between the flowers, but it might not show very much on the picture.

The picture was taken with flash so it is a little bright - sorry. The base cardstock is Gina K. Designs cs, very thick! I love it for card bases. It was embossed with a Sizzix folder (not plate, but their new folders). The only problem is that it is smaller and leaves a mark in the middle when you do the second pass. I put a ribbon on the mark to hide it. I also put a strip of patterned paper on the left to hide the little gap because the folder did not quite make it across my card. The pp was cut with the SU scallop border punch. The 2 lilac patterned papers are by Stampin'Up (almost amethyst I think). The bling in the flowers is Hero Arts, so are the mini pearls on the butterfly. The butterfly is a Hero Arts stamp (comes in a group of 4). The ink is Kaleidoscope ink (on the butterfly and greeting). The glitter is SU Dazzling Diamonds.

The "Hi There" is also an Hero Arts stamps (clear stamp).

The ribbon is from Michaels.

I cut around the flower pot as described by Sally on the Hero Arts Blog. Fun technique! Hi Sally! I met Sally at the Hero Arts Booth at CHA. Such a nice lady! Wish I had had more time to sit and chat!

Hero Arts Weekly Challenge - Shapes

A card for the shape challenge on the Hero Arts Blog (click on the blinkie on the right column to visit the blog).

I'm not sure if it shows or not, but this is a "straw hat" with a little wreath of flowers.... The flowers were stamped in shadow ink and colored with Copics. Then they were glued with pop dots around the crown of the hat. The yellow bow is SU ribbon. (The hat is about 5" diameter). Also, I embossed the front of the card with SU/Sizzix dots embossing plate.

Hero Arts Weekly Challenge- another card

Here is another card I made for the Hero Arts blog weekly challenge.

I used my new Hero Arts stamp. Love this scalloped circle stamp.

I colored it with Adirondak chalk ink and cut the image and the mat with Nestabilities.

I used My Mind's Eye patterned papers. The orange CS is Tango Tangerine from SU. The teal PP is cut with the SU Scallop Edger.

I covered the stamped image with SU Heat and Stick powder, heated it and then stuck SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter on top.
I love this all over glitter look!

The ribbon is Paper Trey Ink. The greeting and pearls are by Hero Arts.

HA Birthday week Challenge

Here is a manly birthday card for the Hero Arts weekly challenge: "Birthday week".

I find it so difficult to do a man's card. I tried to use stripes and manly colors, but I ended up putting some glitter. Jim said "glitter on a man's card? not really!", so I raised the cupcake over the glitter with foam dots.... you still can see a little peeking under the chocolate icing.....

the cupcake stamp is by Hero Arts... colored with Copic markers, the papers are KI from my stash. The card base is chocochip by SU, the greeting is also SU. The scalloped circles were cut with Nestabilities.
