A Sympathy card I made for Julie's friend.

Ingredients:
Everything used is from Stampin'Up, except the background paper (Basic Grey Wisteria 6 x 6 paper pad).

Stamps:

Greeting:  Voeux mignons
Gems: Stampin'Up crystals
Ribbon:  Omer de Serres craft store

The flower was colored with markers.  The image was distressed with Tim Holtz Forest Moss Distress ink.  The whole image and part of the card was sprayed with Sheer Shimmer Spritz.

The purple and green CS are from Stampin'Up (Pear Pizzazz and Bordering Blue).

Stampin'Up Club Projects for March

Yesterday, we had our "March" Stampin'Up Club meeting. A very pleasant get-together as usual!

Here are the projects that I prepared for us.

First the cutest little bird house. I found this project on Mary Fish's blog. She makes the most beautiful projects... Go visit here

... (I've added her to my blog roll).

It is made with the exclusive to Stampin'Up Sizzix die called "Mini Milk carton". The bird and branch were cut with the "Bird and Branch" Punch (from the Spring Mini catalog). And I love this colour combination of turquoise, green and bright blue. My favorite colours lately....

This is my prototype, so please excuse the stains of glue....

The second project is a scrapbook page done with a new 2-steps Stamp set available for pre-order during the month of April. Can't buy it after April 30th until the new catalog comes out in July. It's called "Awash with Flowers" - email me if you are interested in purchasing this set. I love what you can do with it - you can create your own spring garden!

Loved this technique - it gives beautiful results and is quite easy to do.

Ink: Whisper White Craft ink, White embossing powder

Instructions:
It is best to work with dark cardstock, but I have also seen it done on white or acrylic, as long as you keep the contrast in your coloring, it is pretty!
It is also best to work with solid images to have a surface to colour on with the Prismacolor crayons.
1. Stamp your image in White Craft ink.
2. Heat well with the heat gun to dry.
3. Colour your image with Prismacolour crayons, starting with the palest colour as a background. Cover the white completely.
4. Come back with the darker colour to shade and create contrast. Make sure you leave lots of pale. It is the look of the contrast between the 2 colours that creates the “Magic”.
5. Accent the colored image with a little bit of white with a Signo marker.

SU Club projects for January

Hello everyone! Tonight was Stampin'Up Club night. Another fun evening with my favorite crafting friends. (Désolée que tu ne pouvais être là Francine!) Thanks Arlene for having us - These little chocolates were delicious.... yummy!

This is a step card. Just love those. Have made a few already this week....Isn't the chef so cute with his tray of hearts! I saw this idea on a few cards on the web. I paper pieced his pants and scarf (I really like the effect this gives) and I put him on the Sizzix scallop circle.

And I found out that the larger flower matches the Sizzix die exclusive to Stampin'Up called Bird and blossoms.
It is a little difficult to fit in, even with the Stamp-a-mig... I need practice.
I also need to get a photo for this - I forgot my camera at home tonight....

Stampin'Up Club November Project

I just realized that I forgot to blog our November project.

As usual, we did a Scrapbook page. I saw the resist technique on a website, sorry can't remember which one....
You stamp the tiny dots with Versamark, then you brayer the dark ink over the top. (I used 2 colours of dark ink).
The moon is a punched out circle on a post-it note. You brayer over the post-it note. When all the brayering is done, you remove the post-it note to reveal the moon and with a paper towel, you wipe the ink all over the dots. (Sorry for the glare, the top portion of the page is stamped on glossy cardstock).



The 2 larger snowflakes are punched out and the smaller is a felt snowflake from last year's Christmas mini. The papers are also retired from last year's mini.

The second project (I forgot to take a final picture, so this is a bit rough). It is a box with Christmas tags. I saw many versions of the same idea on the web. I did my own measurements and thanks to Josee S. we had an acrylic cover (just a little smaller than the box) for our cover. We tied the cover on with a beautiful real red gros grain ribbon. The tags are from different SU stamp sets, one of which is still available as an hostess set from the SU main catalog.

SU Club December project

I know this is very late.... but it's a start....

We had a little Christmas gift exchange at our last Club meeting, so we decided to do only one project instead of the regular 2 to leave time for exchanging our gifts. I'll show you the gifts in my next message... So many beautiful things!

Here is the project that we made. It is a Tri-Shutter card. There are many places on the web with instructions on how to do those. If you need instructions, just email me.

All the supplies are from Stampin'Up. The paper I used is discontinued (last year's Christmas paper). So are the felt snowflakes.

SU Club Projects for October/Projets SU for October

Here are the two projects I did with my SU Club for this month.

The first one uses the "Sweet Treats" cups from the Mini Catalog. I found the idea on someone's blog to do the little trap door, so that the candies can be removed. (The orange tab moves out and you can get the candies out by the inside of the card). I modified it a little bit and placed an image at the bottom of the cup, so that when the candies are removed, there is still something to see in the cup.

The second card is done with the Pop-up Christimas tree (exclusive to Stampin'Up).

I love that reindeer stamp and the snowflake is part of the Mini Catalog Hostess set (Trees).

I doesn't show very much on the photo, but I textured the "parts" of the tree before assembling it.
I love the big Medallion to be used as a tree skirt.

SU Club Projects for July

It's been too long since I posted, but it seems that since my trip to Bruxelles, I can't catch up....

Just a little quick share today, because I'm busy getting ready to go to..... ***CHA**** in Orlando. Yeah!! A dream come true!!!

SU Club Project for May

Here are the two projects that we did last week for our May SU Club.

I was very inspired by Patty Bennett's interpretation and tutorial video of the Fifth Avenue Rose. So beautiful!
We really enjoyed doing them at the Club get-together.

So here is my interpretation of the watercoloured Fifth Avenue Rose:

The stamp is Stampin'Up Fifth Avenue Florals (113734), stamped in SU White Craft Ink, then embossed with SU White Embossing Powder on SU Shimmer White CS.

The image is watercoloured with SU reinkers. I used: Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Pink Pirouette and retired Groovy Guava and another retired pale yellow (I need to get more reinkers....).

The card base is SU Pretty in Pink Cardstock, embossed with SU Sizzix Texturz plates Background #1 (diamonds).

The patterned paper is a Walk in the Park from the Occasions Mini and it is punched with the Martha Stewart lace border, because I have misplaced my SU eyelet border punch.... 

The ribbon is the new White Satin, also found in the Occasions Mini.  

The beautiful white lined paper under the rose is SU Taste of Textiles (unfortunately, this patterned paper is not included in the current Buy 3 get 1 free patterned/cardstock special that Stampin'Up is having at the moment - but all the others are...).

This patterned paper was cut with SU exclusive Sizzix die Top Note.

The leaves (in SU Cardstock Kiwi Kiss) was cut with Sizzix Sizzlits Little leaves (114511).

That's it!

Now for our second project, we did a 8 x 8 scrapbook page.

It still needs a photo and the "family" rectangle was just for reminding us about a title. I intend to diecut some letters in Kiwi Kiss to write the word "Family".

The background CS is SU So Saffron.  The patterned paper is SU Good Morning Sunshine (113966) brown and blue flowers and another pattern from the same package in yellow for the flower.  The green flower is kiwi kiss and cut with Sizllits Cut and emboss Flower blossom (114530).  The yellow flower is a Chipboard from the chipboard package Batch of Blooms.  The leaves were die cut in Kiwi Kiss with the Sizzlits die Birds and Blooms.  The bird was diecut in Choco Chip SU cardstock with the same Slizzlits die Birds and Blooms. 

The green brad in the yellow flower is SU Kiwi Kiss curdory buttons (114338) and the brown brad is from the Jumbo Brads Neutral assortments (112533).

The photo mat is SU cardstock Pacific Point and the right edge is cut with the scallop edge punch from SU.

April SU Club Projects

Here are the projects we did for April in my SU club.  I had the idea of doing a scrapbook page instead of a card for this session and my friends seem to be happy with this.  So we'll try it.  After doing the page, our hostess Francine, took a photo of our group and printed a copy for each of us.  I will show you the page with the photo on in another post (I still have to scan it...).

 The second project was done using the new SU Sizzix matchbox die and the new acetate window.  I punched out the acetate (a little bigger than the punched out circle on the box) and stamped on it - really like it!  I did the page exactly as it was in the new mini Occasions brochure.  Love those colours and the new Walk in the Park patterned paper.  I sure will buy more of this paper!  I love Baja Breeze and Choco chip brown together.

SU Club Meeting Swap

We had another Club meeting yesterday - another very pleasant get-together! I'll come back later with photos of our projects. Our swap theme was "Think Spring", so here is my card:

This is a monochromatic card and I used the retired Warm Wasabi ink, Cardstock and ribbon. I just added a bit of Stickles on the butterflies and flower image.All the stamps are from the same SU set and I'm so bad at remembering names....

My Stampin'Up Club Project for February

My Club Ladies are so good that each month, it's a challenge for me to find projects that they will find interesting. Don't get me wrong, nobody has ever complained, but I know they're good, so I don't want to bore them!

I first saw this Origami box on Sharon Harnist's blog. She found it on Splitcoast stampers. That's where I found the template for making the box. We're so lucky to have places like this for inspiration and more importantly patterns and instructions.

So here is my project. It was a 2 in 1. First we made the box, then we made cards to go in the box.

If you click on the above photo to view bigger, you will see the embossing on the white "Top Note Die cut". I used the brand new embossing texture plate exclusive to Stampin'Up. It is very beautiful. And there are 6 exclusive plates in the kit. Later on, I tried something I read on someone's blog (Stamping is my business I think). I sprayed the CS with alcohol before embossing. It makes the embossing a lot more crisp. I'll do it next time (except that the spray bottle I put the alcohol in has a little crack on the seam of the plastic bottle and I lost all my alcohol... bummer).  The box itself is made of one 12X12 sheet of patterned paper.  You can find the template for folding here (at the bottom of the message).  Then the frame of the box is made by covering 2 pieces of chipboards with patterned papers.  You can see the instructions on Splitcoast in the same message on Splitcoast as above.

I decorated the 2 Top Notes dies (the white one was trimmed on the dotted line) with the new SU (Sizzix) Embosslits "Sweet stems" and of course I had to use pearls and bling (all Hero Arts).

This is the box open, you can see the frame around the box better.  You can also see one of the cards in the box.  I used Stampin'Up white taffeta ribbon to close the box.

This photo shows the 2 cards we made.  They are 4 x 4.  We used the "Sweet stems" stamp set by SU.  Colored the images with markers before stamping (after "huffing" on them).  The first card is trimmed with the Martha Stewart Border Lace punch (I had not received my SU new Border Lace punch yet - my order was late).  One image was cut with the SU square scallop punch and the other one with the SU Curly label punch.  Both cards were stamped with the new "Elegant Thank you" stamp from SU. The French ladies used the new "Merci Bien" just as Elegant! (also colored first with markers).

Stampin'Up Club Projects for January

We had a wonderful meeting on Friday night with my Club Ladies! They are the best! Thanks Francine T. for hosting!

These are the two projects we made:

We made a card: The technique demonstrated was to use Heat and Stick powder to add glitter all over our image (the two little birds). We also used the new 3 hearts punch for the hearts on the bottom right. The paper is the new Raspberry. So gorgeous! Every single sheet in the pack is gorgeous!

I found this cute little pouch while surfing the web and can't remember where... Sorry about that.
It is made with the Sizzix Petal envelope die. I used 2 envelopes and a piece of cardstock 2 x 5 to create the bottom of the pouch! We filled a little cello bag with chocolates and closed it with the silver elastic thread.

SEPT SU CLUB PROJECTS

Here are my Club projects for Sept.

We did these cute little "Box in a bag" that I saw on many blogs. Here is a link to a tutorial
For our project, I used the Summer picnic DP and Tart and Tangy stamp set because it is "Apple picking time".

The second card I created myself with the new "Dreams du jour" stamp set and the beautiful Bella papers. I was saving those - they are so beautiful!

2 birthday cards

These are two birthday cards that I made for Amy and Josée S who are my friends and members of my SU Club. I have taken photos of some of the other cards that they received, but I don't have them all yet and I forgot to take note of the authors, so I will post them later.

Here are the two that I made:

Josée's card (not SU, except for the greeting).



Amy's card (all SU, except the pearls that are by Kaiser). The greeting on this card was inspired by something that I saw on Beate John's blog. I just loved the idea of placing the greeting in the small oval punch over the beautiful filigree scalloped lozenge. I created my own small greeting on the computer and punched it out with the SU small oval punch. The papers are my favorite so far in the new catalog - called Urban Garden, and in my favorite colours!



Recipes:
Josée's card (6 x 6"):

Stampsets: Impression Obsession and SU for greeting.
Cardstock and papers: Basic Grey patterned paper and Prism Cardstock; SU cardstock (wild wasabi).
Inks: Palette hybrid black and SU old olive.
