Another Explosion Box

Yesterday I gave a class at the Roxboro Library, and guess what we made? Another Explosion Box.

It was a lot of fun, and thanks to my friend Madeleine for her help. Madeleine, you're the best!

I think that the ladies were happy with their boxes. I had pre-cut everything, so we got it all finished before they left.
I don't like leaving students with unfinished projects... so I try to prepare all I can so that we can finish on time.

Here is a photo of the box. All the papers and cardstock I used were Stampin'Up retired products.

Pop-up Tree class

I used the same layout as my Stampin'Up October Club Project (link) to do a Pop-up Tree class for my locall SS. Email me if you would like more information (louisecharlton@videotron.ca).

Sizzix made the Christmas tree die in two versions, one for Stampin'up which has an extra layers of branches at the bottom of each section and another little smaller tree sold by Sizzix.

In my Stampin'UP Club project, I used the Stampin'Up exclusive tree (link). In this project, I used the Sizzix tree. The class is coming up soon! Email me if you would like to attend! (Isn't that gold snowflake just gorgeous....!)

SU Club Projects for October/Projets SU for October

Here are the two projects I did with my SU Club for this month.

The first one uses the "Sweet Treats" cups from the Mini Catalog. I found the idea on someone's blog to do the little trap door, so that the candies can be removed. (The orange tab moves out and you can get the candies out by the inside of the card). I modified it a little bit and placed an image at the bottom of the cup, so that when the candies are removed, there is still something to see in the cup.

In this photo, you can see the size of the cup:

This is the inside, the "eek" is at the back of the trap door.

This is the trap door being moved aside to see the candies:

The second card is done with the Pop-up Christimas tree (exclusive to Stampin'Up).

I love that reindeer stamp and the snowflake is part of the Mini Catalog Hostess set (Trees).

Here are some views of the tree and the inside of the card:

I doesn't show very much on the photo, but I textured the "parts" of the tree before assembling it.
I love the big Medallion to be used as a tree skirt.

Thanks for visiting my blog! If you are interested in any of the supplies or in joining one of my Clubs, please email me at Louisecharlton@videotron.ca. We always have lots of fun!

Pour le Baptême de Jérémy

Bonjour, voici une carte que j'ai faite hier pour le Baptême de Jérémy, le 3ème fils de ma nièce Marie-Claude et de son conjoint Steve. Un autre beau petit gars!

J'ai utilisé les papiers Stampin'up (retirés).

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Published on a website

I'm so excited! The box that I made for a class has been selected to appear on the "manufacturer's" website!

Because of my contract with SU, I cannot give you the link to the website, but I'm sure you can find it by yourself.

The Manufacturer is BG.... Wow I'm so happy!!

These are the 2 photos they selected:

If you have a chance, go visit and leave some comments! Thanks!

Happy Birthday Claudia!

Here is a card I made for my friend Claudia. She loves those little Hero Arts Asian dolls.

I made a shutter card for her. The paper I used is by Stampin'up (it is now retired - I was saving it for special occasions. Love this paper, the texture, the colours - I miss my Baja Breeze). The images were coloured with Copics.

Here are a few "views" of the card:

Copic Class

Last week, my friends asked me to teach them how to use Copic Markers.

So we had a little get together and I showed them what I learned when I got Copic Certified and a little bit of what I know about coloring. I have loved to colour all my life. I have had Prismacolor crayons for as long as I can remember. I now love my Copic markers. I have learned a lot about Copics from some talented ladies' blogs: from Marianne's blog ( I Love Markers), Debbie Olson (Thinking Inking) , Sharon Harnist (Paperfections). I recently discovered the blog of Linda Heavens (Heavens created this) who is a very talented "colorist". She truly does a great job with Markers. And Paula Williamson (Paper Possibilities) who colors with Prismacolor crayons. She is also very talented. I visit both their blogs regularly.

Visiting all these ladies blogs have inspired me and helped me to improve my colouring skills.

Anyway, I was very honored that my friends asked me for my help. Here are 3 cards that some of them did:

I think that they did a great job!!

Challenges

Started this card a while back, and realized that I could use it for two challenges, so I got if finished, well almost...
I meant to work on the grass (just saw a terrific tutorial on Splitcoaststampers by Paula Williams.).
I don't have time to do more on my grass now, even though it needs lots of improvement, but the rest is not bad....

So this card is for the Bella Challenge (something kids related) and for the Copic challenge (coloring in black).

So here is my card (the punched borders are done with MS punches).

Stamping'Up Swap Card

The theme for our swap card for our Club meeting this month was "Baby" because our hostess, Christine, needed a baby card for her brother and wanted ideas.

Here is my card. All Stampin'up stamps, papers, Sizzix dies and ribbon.
(The paper and patterned paper are retired).

It was colored with Copic markers.

Mini Christmas book

Hope you're not fed up.....!

Here is a mini book I made for the Hostess of the swap below. New beautiful Christmas papers.....

The book base is a cardstock CD holder with an accordeon book in the center.

Sorry the cover photo is a little out of focus.... I don't have the book anymore to retake the photo....
