Challenge on Beate's blog - WSC29

Beate is back with her Friday's challenge. See Beate's blog for challenge WSC29

I tried 2 cards. The first one, I was moving the circle part around and ended up using it at the top instead of over the image. I'm not sure if it stills qualifies for the challenge...

Here is the sketch

Here is my first try:

For the second one, I copied the sketch - I used a stamp I found in my mom's stamp collection. She died last year and I had found it difficult to use her things. I found this stamp again last week and since it was her favorite, I decided to make a late Christmas card with it (or really, it's early for next year....).

Thanks for looking!

A little birdie

I have caught the card bug... I should be cleaning, but I feel like making cards.. I found this cute little birdie (oops the stamp says Chickie...) in my stash, and tried my Copic markers on him. Love the result - I then used a purchased embossed card to finish quicker.

I find that the scan really makes the card look dull. The blue and white are so much brighter in real life.
Edit: I adjusted the photo in Iphoto and it looks better.

Recipe:

Stamps: Birdie, Stampendous; Merry Christmas, Penny Black; Joy, Peace, Hope, Stampin up
Inks: Copic markers, Atayou Spica markers, Stampin up Bashful blue and Ballet blue; Memories Black ink, Decor Snow Writer for fur and cap
Punches: Stampin up large oval punch (second oval cut by hand); Marvy Scallop square punch
Glitter: Fine glitter (brand unknown)
Brads and snowflake embossed card: DCWV
CS: from stash (unknown)
