Stampin'UP! butterflies Thanks

Here is card entirely Stampin'Up (to say thank you to a future hostess...).

I have used the beautiful Parisian Breeze Paper and Baja Breeze cardstock (soon to be retired = too bad, I just love that blue).

The butterflies have been stamped in Chocolate Chip brown craft ink and embossed with Iridiscent Ice embossing powder.
The corduroy button is Baja Breeze and the punches are SU large oval and scalloped oval. The greeting is a SU mini kit, and sorry to say to it will be retired also. Too bad, it was a good buy.

Here is my card:

and here is a closeup of the butterflies:

Bellarific Friday May 29th

I haven't been a very good poster lately. Came back from Connecticut last week, spent Friday preparing for my Saturday class. Spent the whole day doing the 2 classes on Saturday, then left immediately for Toronto to pick up furniture at my BIL's. Thought I could take the time to stop by the Bella Store, but we left too late....

So all that to stay that I haven't been making many cards.... Did some coloring in the car though, so hopefully I'll be able to put new cards together soon.

The last card I made was for the Bellarific Friday on Stamping Bella's Blog.

The challenge was to make a card following this sketch:

<

Here is my card:

I colored the image using Copics, and I applied the glitter using Linda Heavens' technique, with a fine glue pen. I really like the look.

You can see all the other entries on the blog here

Stamping Bella Bellarific Challenge Friday May 22nd

Sorry for not posting.... I've been away on a Miata trip to the US to the Lime Rock Race Track - even did a Parade Lap of the track. What fun! If you are interested, you can see the video that my husband downloaded on Youtube here. (I was the photographer - not bad for a little cheapy camera...)

Miata at Lime Rock Parade Lap

I haven't done anything new since last Friday, so here is the card I made for the last Bellarific Friday on Stamping Bella's Blog.

The challenge was to make a card following this sketch:

Here is my card:

This photo was taken outside in the sunshine, it's brighter but the shadows are funny....

(click on image to view bigger)

I colored the image with Copics as usual and did a little stiching.

The greeting was done on the computer and the bubbles are from the Dollar Store.

Another Watercoloured Fifth Avenue Rose

I loved this technique so much that I did a few more cards right away.

This one was for a Sympathy card...

(click on image to view bigger).

It was coloured mainly with "pink reinkers", Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette and Real Red, which I found out has very "fushia" base.

The card base is Baja Breeze cardstock. The rest is all the same from my previous post here.

Thanks for looking! Merci de votre visite.

SU Club Project for May

Here are the two projects that we did last week for our May SU Club.

I was very inspired by Patty Bennett's interpretation and tutorial video of the Fifth Avenue Rose. So beautiful!
We really enjoyed doing them at the Club get-together.

So here is my interpretation of the watercoloured Fifth Avenue Rose:

(Click on image to view bigger)

The stamp is Stampin'Up Fifth Avenue Florals (113734), stamped in SU White Craft Ink, then embossed with SU White Embossing Powder on SU Shimmer White CS.
The image is watercoloured with SU reinkers. I used: Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Pink Pirouette and retired Groovy Guava and another retired pale yellow (I need to get more reinkers....).

The card base is SU Pretty in Pink Cardstock, embossed with SU Sizzix Texturz plates Background #1 (diamonds).
The patterned paper is a Walk in the Park from the Occasions Mini and it is punched with the Martha Stewart lace border, because I have misplaced my SU eyelet border punch....

The ribbon is the new White Satin, also found in the Occasions Mini.

The beautiful white lined paper under the rose is SU Taste of Textiles (unfortunately, this patterned paper is not included in the current Buy 3 get 1 free patterned/cardstock special that Stampin'Up is having at the moment - but all the others are...).
This patterned paper was cut with SU exclusive Sizzix die Top Note.

The leaves (in SU Cardstock Kiwi Kiss) was cut with Sizzix Sizzlits Little leaves (114511).

That's it!

Now for our second project, we did a 8 x 8 scrapbook page.

(click on image to view bigger)

It still needs a photo and the "family" rectangle was just for reminding us about a title. I intend to diecut some letters in Kiwi Kiss to write the word "Family".

The background CS is SU So Saffron.  The patterned paper is SU Good Morning Sunshine (113966) brown and blue flowers and another pattern from the same package in yellow for the flower.  The green flower is kiwi kiss and cut with Sizllits Cut and emboss Flower blossom (114530).  The yellow flower is a Chipboard from the chipboard package Batch of Blooms.  The leaves were die cut in Kiwi Kiss with the Sizzlits die Birds and Blooms.  The bird was diecut in Choco Chip SU cardstock with the same Slizzlits die Birds and Blooms.
The green brad in the yellow flower is SU Kiwi Kiss curdory buttons (114338) and the brown brad is from the Jumbo Brads Neutral assortments (112533).
The photo mat is SU cardstock Pacific Point and the right edge is cut with the scallop edge punch from SU.

That's all!  Thanks for your visit!  Merci de votre visite!

CPS #116

It has been a while since I've done a card for the Card Positioning System challenge. This week (CPS #116)  is being sponsored by Bella Stamps. I should really have used a Bella Stamp, but I just finished coloring this Whipper Snapper Designs image, and it's pretty cute, so I though I'd use it. Besides, there is a Bella Challenge due for tomorrow, and I just received my new Bella Stamps, so I'll try to do a Bella card for tomorrow.

You can find the CPS challenge here.

This is the sketch:

This is my card - note that I have reversed the sketch sideways:

(Click on image to view bigger)

The image is Sofia by Whipper Snapper Designs, coloured with Copics and shaded with Prismacolor crayons.  I have raised it with foam dots (SU dimentionals).

The pink cardstock is SU Pretty in Pink and the yellow glittered cardstock is by DCWV.  So are the glittered pattern papers.

The yellow border is cut with a Martha Stewart punch.  The buttons are Basic Grey.

That's it!  Thanks for looking!  Merci de votre visite.

Friends / amies

On Tuesday, I was having a bad day... I decided to try to make a card to relax. Coloring is very therapeutic.  Well it was an upside down day.... even in my cardmaking...  Good thing it is a fixable booboo... I spent enough time on it... (I'll cut the front off and remount it on another blank card).

Here is the card the way it should look like....

The stamp is by Inky Antics colored with Copics and Prismacolor crayons, the patterned paper is Basic Grey Lime Rickey. The flowers are by Little Yellow Bicycle.

Bellarific Friday challenge

This is the card that I made for last week's Bellarific Friday challenge. You can go here on Bella's Blog to see all the other entries (I did not win :(

The stamp is Felix Ketto with a flower.  Since I don't have a cat, I goggled cat photos and tried to do something whimsical - not sure it worked! Then I ran into trouble with my saying, was just a little too narrow.... Oh well...

As usual, I colored the image with Copics, I sponged the background with orange ink.  I cut the image with Spellbinders circles.  I used my new little 6 x 6 pad of Basic Grey papers Lime Rickey - so colorful.  The yellow cardstock is SU yoyo yellow.

The saying is also a Bella stamp.  To finish off, I put gems in Felix' flower and little small ones in the circle of the paper.  I love bling!

April SU Club Projects

Here are the projects we did for April in my SU club.  I had the idea of doing a scrapbook page instead of a card for this session and my friends seem to be happy with this.  So we'll try it.  After doing the page, our hostess Francine, took a photo of our group and printed a copy for each of us.  I will show you the page with the photo on in another post (I still have to scan it...).

The second project was done using the new SU Sizzix matchbox die and the new acetate window.  I punched out the acetate (a little bigger than the punched out circle on the box) and stamped on it - really like it!  I did the page exactly as it was in the new mini Occasions brochure.  Love those colours and the new Walk in the Park patterned paper.  I sure will buy more of this paper!  I love Baja Breeze and Choco chip brown together.

So here is the page and second project.

SU Swap cards - Cartes SU pour swap

Note:  This card was not made by me, but by my friend Arlene!

Here is a card made by my friend Arlene, for our latest SU Club meeting Swap.  Our theme was "a card with green" to bring back Spring.

Bella's weekly blog colour challenge

There was another challenge this week on Bella's blog.

Love the colours for this challenge. Here is the challenge photo:

Here is the card I made, using one of my new Ketto stamps. This one is Phoebe Ketto. I think that these Kettos are so original. Love them!
Anyway I had fun doing this one!

(click on image to view bigger)

Here is a closeup of the image to view all the glitter (from the Atayou Spica pens and glitter dots on the patterned paper).

and here is a photo of the back of the card. I used SEI glittered Patterned paper as my card base. It is so pretty! and the inside of the card is pretty too!

(click on image to view bigger)

I also used one new Nestabilities die, the Dahlia (in bright yellow). And I tried one of the techniques that I learned in Toronto from Kim of Spellbinders (such a nice lady by the way! - I had a lot of fun in her class..). So instead of cutting with just one die, you cut with 2 consecutive dies in the serie to make rings. Ask me if you want more info - I'll take photos to show in details.... (only if anyone reads this and cares to know....)...

Here is the recipe for the card:

Stamps: Stamping Bella: Phoebe Ketto, Fantabulous day
Inks and colours: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics markers, Atayou spica glitter markers
Papers: SEI Mimosa glitter patterned papers
Cardstock:  Stampin'Up Yoyo yellow, tangerine tango and retired wild wasabi.
Tools:  Nestabilities Dahlia and classic squares.
Embellishments:  American Crafts yellow velvet ribbon and Kaiser mini pink pearls

Thanks for coming! Merci de visiter mon blog!

2 new cards

I know it's been a while since I posted - I was away in Toronto all last week for a craft show. I had lots of fun.
I attended a Copic Workshop and received my Copic Certification! Yeah!
Did a class with Kim of Spellbinders - did a beautiful set of pages! Love the new border dies.
I will be doing the pages as a class, so I'll show them later on.

Also did a class with Sizzix, lots of new beautiful dies coming out.

I also played with the Making Memories Slice. It is nice, but it is difficult to justify buying a new cutting tool when I have all the others!

I did not forget our blog candy - will be posting about that soon.

In the meantime, I would like to share 2 new cards I did recently.

This first one is a Bella Stamp - Stella has her fix...

(click on image to view bigger)
Here is the recipe:
Stamps: Bella stamp (Stella), Best Friends, also Bella stamp
Papers: Basic Grey
Cardstock: from my stash
tools: Nestabilities dies, Sewing machine
Embellishments: Ribbon: from my stash, flower: Chatterbox, dew drops: Dollarama
Inks/markers: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers, Atiyou Spika glitter markers.

For the second card, I used a stamp I borrowed from my friend Claudia. We fell in love with the Stampavie line.
(I have ordered a few....). Julie's room used to be decorated with Holly Hobbies when she was little - these stamps remind me of her.

Here is the card - I find it a little bright... What do you think?

(click on image to view bigger)

Recipe:
Stamp: Stampavie
Papers:  Making Memories (green dots) and Basic Grey (lace strips)
Cardstock:  SU
Inks/markers:  Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Copic Markers
tools:  Nestabilities
Embellishments:  Lace strip (inked with pink):  Martha Stewart; Flowers:  Prima; Pearl:  Kaiser Krafts
